It will take you no longer than 10-15 minutes to complete the Iemas Purchase Card application form. Please remember to submit the required documentation with your application form to allow for the seamless processing of your application.
Valid ID / Passport;
Proof of Residential address;
Latest Payslip or 3 months’ bank statements (credit option only).
Credit Option - You will receive a monthly statement via email. The card purchase month runs from the 16th of a month to the 15th of the following month. The total amount spent on the card over this period must be settled in full by the last day of the month following the 15th.

Debit Option - You will receive a monthly statement via email. This card option does not have any credit or budget facility and offers you the opportunity to transfer money to your card before purchasing. The cardholder must, however, always ensure that sufficient funds are in the debit card account to cover the monthly fees.

If you want to keep track of your account during the month, you can sign into your online member profile. Select the Member Sign-in button at the top of our website and register by creating your login details and password.
The online member profile allows you to:

View your available and outstanding balances
Update your contact details and address
Set or change your card PIN
Order additional cards
View and download your statements
View your transaction details
Report lost/stolen or damaged cards
Request a limit increase (credit option only)
Credit option only - You can use your budget facility for any purchase of R300 or more and select a repayment period of 3 - 60 months at a very competitive interest rate. Please note that not all retailers, such as Fuel Service Stations allow budget transactions.
Credit option only - Yes, interest will only be charged if you pay your account late or short, and you will lose your cashback benefit for that month.
The Transactional SMS is not optional and part of the monthly product cost.
48 hours is the maximum expected time, irrespective of the time of week. It really depends how long the funds take to get to the Iemas bank account. It is also important that you supply the correct reference number (your card account number) when making a payment to prevent any delays in the availability of your money on the card.
You cannot withdraw money from your Iemas Purchase Card at any cash register or ATM.
No, the Iemas Purchase Card is not a savings account, therefore, no interest is earned.
There is no minimum or maximum amount limit.
Refunds can be requested by calling the Iemas contact centre or by sending an email.
This allows us to distinguish if you are making a payment towards the outstanding amount on your Credit Card account or depositing money into your Debit Card account.
